The History Department at Centro de Investigacion y Docencia Economicas along with the School of Government and Social Sciences of Tecnologico de Monterrey and the Institute of Philology at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico request submissions to the conference "Diversities of the Arab World" to be held in Mexico City and Guadalajara, October 19th-26th, as part of the Ninth Arab Week in Mexico.
The conference seeks to bring together students and scholars who are welcome to present work in progress on the Middle East and North Africa. Research papers from all disciplinary perspectives are welcome, including the social sciences, arts, and humanities. Please include methodology and sources along with the main argument in your 250 word abstract. This year's theme, "The Middle East Without Borders", invites the exploration of multiple connections and circulations that have shaped the region through mobilities, translations, mythologies, and institutional relations. Individual papers and panels are welcome, the deadline for abstract submissions is July 15th, 2018.
Abstracts can be submitted through the registry form at: www.cide.edu/semanaarabe. The final program will be published on the website by August 15th, 2018.
