Host Paola Messina sat down with Lebanese filmmaker, animator, and comic book writer Fadi Baki in his home in Beirut to talk about the making of the film The Last Days of the Man of Tomorrow (آخر أيّام رجل الغَد), its protagonist (Manivelle), and the many meanings his story may carry in Lebanon and around the world.
Fadi Baki (also known as “the fdz”) is a co-founder of Samandal, one of the Middle East’s premier comic magazines. He has also worked with Beirut Animated, the Lebanese animation film festival run by Metropolis. He currently divides his time between motion graphics, comics, and filmmaking.
Paola Cossermelli Messina is associate producer and post-production manager of Status / الوضع Audio Magazine.
