The Department of Linguistics at Ohio University welcomes applicants for its MA program in Applied Linguistics.
This year’s application cycle will include funding packages in the form of teaching assistantships that will place graduate students in our Arabic Language Program, working with our Director of Arabic Language Program.
Teaching assistantships in the department come with a full tuition waiver and a $13,000 annual stipend. Service obligations include teaching one section of our Arabic language courses, help organizing out-of-class language enhancement events, and participating in the Arabic language program’s weekly curricular meetings. Teaching level fluency in Arabic is expected, and previous language teaching experience is preferred.
For full consideration in the application process, please submit all materials by not later than March 1 for admission in the following fall semester.
Application Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Statement of purpose
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official undergraduate transcripts (showing minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3)
- Official TOEFL or IELTS scores
Please note that GRE scores are not required for application to our MA program.
