The History Department at Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, along with the School of Government and Social Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, call for submissions for their annual conference “Diversities of the Arab World”, to be held in Mexico City, November 19-25th 2019, as part of the Tenth Arab Week in Mexico.
The conference seeks to bring together students and scholars who are welcome to present work in progress on the Middle East and North Africa. Research papers from all disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives are welcome, including the social sciences, arts and humanities. The overarching conference theme will be Gender and Sexuality, through submissions on other topics are also welcome.
Please include methodology and sources along with the main argument in a 250-word abstract. Registration and conference attendance are free, and the organizing committee does not cover travel or accommodation expenses. Submissions and presentations are welcome in English or Spanish, although we do not offer translation services during the conference. Submissions can be sent as individual papers or organized panels. The deadline for abstract submission is Sunday, July 14th, 2019.
Abstracts can be submitted through the registry form at: www.cide.edu/seamanaarabe. The final program will be published on the website by August 16th, 2019.
