Mohamed Badie arrested in apartment in Nasr City.
The Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Badie, was arrested on Tuesday morning according to the state owned Al-Ahram newspaper. Badie, who was rumored to have been arrested multiple times since the ouster of former president Mohaamed Morsi, was taken into police custody from an apartment in Nasr City, according to the Interior Ministry.
Eyewitnesses had reported seeing him in the apartment to the authorities, who arrested him along with a member of the National Coalition to Support Legitimacy, Yasser Talaat, without resistance, according to the private daily Al-Masry Al-Youm.
A photo of Badie appeared on social media platforms where he seems to be held in the back of a police car, wearing a white shirt and guarded by two security personnel.
